I’ve been cheating on you and I can’t keep it a secret anymore…

I tried a tool that would supposedly find me ideas for viral Tweets. I was skeptical because most of the hacks, tools, and tricks for Twitter (and all of the other social networks for that matter) are either spammy or don’t work. 

So, when one does deliver I am compelled to share and Tweet Hunter delivers.

After telling them what topics you are interested in, Tweet Hunter builds a wall of tweets for you that have already gone "viral" for other people. Thankfully, they force you to tweak it and make it your own as opposed to encouraging full blown plagiarism.

I bet you are a bit like me and sometimes you just need some inspiration to get your wheels spinning. Within seconds of logging in, I’m able to find and modify excellent Tweets.

So far, nearly every Tweet that I have composed using this tool has drastically outperformed my typical engagement metrics.

Here is one that was about the challenges of being an entrepreneur that I modified to make about being a Realtor. It blew up. Here is another one that was about marketers needing to study psychology that I altered to make about agents needing to study psychology and it crushed it.

Typically, I get less than 10 likes per Tweet and just under 1,000 total views. With Tweet Hunter, that first one got 133 likes and over 11k views! The second one has 37 likes and 2,400+ views.

Not bad for a free trial.

Also, you do not need to use what you find only on Twitter. I think it is a huge play to take what they give you and use it on whatever platform you already have the most traction on. For example, when I repurposed that Tweet on Instagram it also greatly outperformed my average post.

I’m now happily paying Tweet Hunter $49/month. Anyone who understands the cost of online advertising knows how valuable all of that additional organic reach is worth.

Most people who have a podcast shouldn’t. There, I said it.

That said, podcasts are popular af and if you don’t have one of your own you should have minor FOMO. Audio is everywhere and it isn’t a trend you can ignore. It’s just that you do not need a podcast of your own to add podcasts into your marketing mix.

Thanks to Snipd, you can find short and shareable clips from your favorite podcast to use in your marketing. 

As opposed to sharing an entire podcast, which most people won’t happen to have the time to listen to anyways. Snipd enables you to share just the best moments from the pod by using A.I. to scan the episode and generate the greatest hits automatically.

I’ve been a podcaster for a long time and I get interviewed on podcasts about my book a couple of times a week. While it is a no brainer for the hosts to chop up their clips into snippets that are social media friendly most of them don’t.

Snipd breaks down the best podcasts into consumable content. If you have a podcast try it on yours. You will be amazed at how good they are at finding the best moments.

The other great thing about Snipd is that I’m able to listen to all of my favorite podcasts in a fraction of the time. I can’t tell you how many times I have seen a podcast I wanted to listen to in my social media feeds but didn’t have the full 30-60 minutes to commit. 

Thanks to Snipd, now I can listen to and learn from a podcast in 30-60 seconds. Plus, it’s free and they already have an Android app too.

News consumption on social media sites has either declined or flatlined. Except for on TikTok.

For example, 54% of Facebook’s users turned to the site regularly for news in 2020. In 2022 it is down to 44%.

During that same time frame, TikTok users who regularly get their news there went up from 22% to 33%. This reinforces my thesis that TikTok is a media company that people wrongly think is a social network.

TikTok is a lot more like YouTube than it is like Facebook. I expect to see YouTube, TikTok, and Twitter ultimately win the social media war of attention for breaking news (Twitter/TikTok) as well as for in-depth journalism (YouTube).

Here are a few more  interesting findings from Pew’s survey of 12,147 U.S. adults: 

• 31%  of U.S. adults say they regularly get news from Facebook

• 25% of U.S. adults regularly get their news from YouTube

• 53% of Twitter users regularly get their news there 

• 26% of 18-29 year olds regularly get news from TikTok (up from 9% in 2020)

• 10% of 30-49 year olds regularly get news from TikTok

• 4% 50-64 year olds regularly get news from TikTok

• More than 50% of regular news consumers on Snapchat, TikTok, and Reddit are between the ages of 18-29

Why does any of this matter to a Realtor or a loan officer or a life insurance agent?

If you consider yourself a content creator, it is important to know where people turn their attention when they want news.

Most of the top real estate agents I know try to be a local source of information that is affecting their communities. They proclaim to be the digital mayor.

If that’s you then you need to be creating and sharing content where people get their news. You are a media company. You are a local reporter. You are the boots on the ground.

Start acting like it.

Gary Vaynerchuk stopped giving business advice six years ago and pivoted to focusing on motivation and culture. Sports cards and Vee Friends have since overtaken his feeds.

If I’m being honest, I changed the channel. I missed the old Gary and I told him that on Twitter.

That’s when I had an epiphany. Gary doesn’t need to teach business anymore because he operates so publicly. The best way to learn from him nowadays is to observe him execute and then copy it.

For example, I saw Gary giving away free NFTs for anyone who pre ordered 12 or more copies of his latest book. It blew up. He shattered sales records. So, I gave away a free NFT for mine.

It also blew up and was a #1 bestseller.

You may not have a book coming out soon but there is something Gary is doing right now that I wanted to bring to your attention so you too can mimic the master.

I noticed that Gary has been using the green screen feature in his Reels and on TikTok. He pulls up a headline from a news article and rants about it. When he uses the green screen feature his videos are getting 10x more views than his baseline.

When his team see’s that something works they double down. Nine out of his last sixteen Reels use green screen.

I’ll be using more green screen, ASAP. You should too. With all of the doom and gloom in the headlines, it’s more important than ever to provide your opinion and commentary about it. Here are a few ideas:

• Do a green screen with a Zestimate behind you that was WAY off and explain why that happens

• Do a green screen of a blog post you wrote and break it down orally to get more out of it

• Do a green screen with your local market’s stats behind you and help me understand what they mean 

Whatever you do, just ask yourself, "WWGD?"

Mr. Vaynerchuk may not be a business guru anymore but he is still one of the best business people on the planet to model and emulate. You just can’t wait for him to tell you what to do anymore.

Usually, I share a bunch of stats about the same topic. Today, I am mixing it up and doing a "stat dump".

Like a photo dump but for statistics.

No rhyme or reason. Just random and interesting data I stumbled upon recently and felt compelled to share:

• People are 280x’s more likely to climb Mt. Everest than click on a banner ad
• Visitors will spend an average of 6.48 seconds focusing on your logo
• 89% of consumers shop with a competitor after a poor user experience
• A 1-second delay in page response results in a 7% reduction in conversions
• Slow-loading websites cost their owners $2.6 billion in losses each year
• 91% of non-complainers just leave but then 13% of them tell 15 more people about their bad experience
